Pilgrimage is something not often talked about and when it is, often it is condemned. Charles Foster takes you through a journey looking at many different religions and many different stories including his own personal stories, all about pilgrimage. This books is about how Jesus lived His life here on earth as a pilgrim and how He has used many people to accomplish His extraordinarily plans, then how you can live your life to the fullest and be available to whatever God has in store for you. I really enjoyed this book, Foster gets straight to the point and lays it all out before you. There were several times that I disagreed with him, however that is to be expected, Phyllis Tickle says in the foreword that it is going to be very hard for you to not disagree with at least something that Foster says. However, that is not to say that "The Sacred Journey" is a incredible book. "The Sacred Journey" challenges you to not become comfortable with all that you have, as when you become comfortable you become complacent, it instead challenges you to take a journey, whether big or small to remind you of how Christ lived here on earth and how He designed humans to live. Overall, it is a great book and I highly recommend it!
