Wow! This book totally blew me away. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. This is an incredible fiction read from start to finish, with an amazing message buried inside. This book will not have a problem grabbing, and keeping your attention as there is suspense and mystery everywhere.
The book is about a mysterious group of immortals, Israelites who were being punished for forsaking God at Mt. Sinai and instead turning to idolatry and worshiping the golden calf. Through their twisted way of thinking, they believed that they could earn their way to heaven by killing sinners.
The other side of the story is a man, reeling in the pain of losing his best friend as well as his arm. Through that incident he also lost his faith and trust in God. This story is how his faith in God is restored and of how he lets go of his hurt and pain, all while saving the lives of millions, from an attack by the immortals.
As I said before, incredible story! One of my favorite parts of this book is that I’ve read the story of the Israelites at Mt. Sinai and how they worshiped the golden ram many times. Even though the book was fiction, the event actually happened, and how the writer portrayed the event really made you think of the shame the people felt, when they were caught in their idolatry and separated from their creator. It makes you recognized the ability we have through Christ, that He took our sins upon Him, all we have to do is give our lives to Christ. However the Israelites did not have direct access to God, but instead had to sacrifice animals to cover their sin. It really shows you the freedom we have in Christ.
