This is a free book I received from booksneeze.com, which is a program where BookSneeze will send you a book, you read it, review it, and then pick out a new book to read, all free of charge.

Pilgrimage is something not often talked about and when it is, often it is condemned. Charles Foster takes you through a journey looking at many different religions and many different stories including his own personal stories, all about pilgrimage. This books is about how Jesus lived His life here on earth as a pilgrim and how He has used many people to accomplish His extraordinarily plans, then how you can live your life to the fullest and be available to whatever God has in store for you. I really enjoyed this book, Foster gets straight to the point and lays it all out before you. There were several times that I disagreed with him, however that is to be expected, Phyllis Tickle says in the foreword that it is going to be very hard for you to not disagree with at least something that Foster says. However, that is not to say that "The Sacred Journey" is a incredible book. "The Sacred Journey" challenges you to not become comfortable with all that you have, as when you become comfortable you become complacent, it instead challenges you to take a journey, whether big or small to remind you of how Christ lived here on earth and how He designed humans to live. Overall, it is a great book and I highly recommend it!

So by now you probably know that the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl and the Pittsburgh Steelers lost, or I'm going to start wondering where you've been for the last several hours!  So for those of you who don't know me I'll still admit that Pittsburgh is my team, even though they let me down.  This reminds me of how oftentimes our relationship with God works.  Even though we let God down, He is always willing to restore us and to help us back up, even when we don't deserve it.  Even though the Steelers made several mistakes and several turnovers, giving Green Bay the points they needed to win and even though we oftentimes make ridiculous mistakes, that down the road we look back upon and can't believe we made them.  I'm still going to root for the Steelers and God is still going to love us, no matter what.  This event reminds me of a song called "Remain" by Starfield which says:

So I don't know about you, but right now my life seems to consist of doing the same thing, day after day (school).  It is during this time that I think oftentimes we forget who God truly is and start to grumble and complain, forgetting about who God truly is.  It is during this time of repetition that I am learning that we need to take a step back and take a look at who God truly and amazingly is.  We need to thank God for everything He has blessed us with and be content.  Paul says over and over to be content with what we have, whether we are rich or poor (Philippians 4:11-12; 1 Timothy 6:8).  My mom came across a quote that I found to be very inspirational which states ‎"To be upset over what you don't have is to waste what you do have." - Ken S. Keyes, Jr.  This quote is so true!  When we are complaining or grumbling about what we don't have we are wasting the talents, abilities, and opportunities that we do have.  So next time you feel like life has become kinda boring stop and think about what opportunities you are missing or wasting and take those opportunities and see where God leads you.
